Green Light for Pegasus Subdivision

The proposed 300-plus unit Pegasus development subdivision moved one step closer to reality last week.

Arnprior Council's Protective Services/Planning/Promotion Committee recommended approval of a revised plan of subdivision for the housing project.

No appeals to the Ontario Municipal Board were received to the zoning changes approved by council recently, paving the way for the plan of subdivision to proceed.

The next step is to forward it to the County of Renfrew for its seal of approval.

The revised plan for the major residential development just south of Vanjumar Drive and west of the White Lake Road eliminated an entrance onto Campbell Drive.

The possibility of increased traffic along that residential McNab-Braeside road had worried a number of residents and township council.

The only two ways in and out of the housing development will now be onto either Russett or Vanjumar drives.

The density of residential units proposed has also been reduced from 339 to 308.

That will comprise of 135 single-family homes and 173 multiple attached (townhouse) units.

According to at least one of the development representatives, the Ottawa-based company hopes to have the shovels in the ground this spring.
